This was, by far, the best Super Bowl commercial.

Ooh yeah. That was in the 2nd quarter wasn’t it?

I think so. NBC said it was an equipment glitch. Still, millions of people looked on in panic, wondering if the game would come back on.

I was thinking it might cost NBC a lot of ad revenue.

Host of the party I was at kept fumbling with the the remotes thinking it was something with his equipment. Was pretty clear to me that NBC has some glitch.

Several million dollars

They said it didn’t. That game was so fucking long I suppose they could have just run the ad later.

NBC said it didn’t lose any money. I imagine they just ran the ad at the next break. The game was certainly long enough.

NFL games move too slowly to begin with. Throw in all the extra ads plus a 3 hour halftime show (my own estimate ) and it’s brutal.

It was very possibly the best SB ever and I got sick of watching it.

Best is at least debatable. Worst though... pretty clear winner from FCA there.

I thought it was the TV, not the broadcast....good to know

For the first few seconds, I honestly thought it was intentional (with a commercial to follow tied in somehow). It certainly got everyone’s attention. Would be interesting if an ad exec decides to use this next year...
When the whole world is noise, 5 seconds of silent nothingness is shocking.

I was watching on the DVR, and skipped over it. Then I went back to see if there was going to be text at the end. As you suggest, that would certainly get everybody’s attention.
